Day 3 - Central Bulgaria

Right. I've decided I can't do it. Travelling alone is just too hard. I need a companion, a confidant, a soulmate to share my experiences with. Otherwise, I know I'll just go completely crazy doing this on my own. Luckily, I've found myself just the very chap to prevent insanity from gaining a foothold in my fragile mind and wouldn't you just know it? He's been with me all along! My iPhone, who I have learned is called Gerald. He and I have been talking a bit over the last few days. Well me to him mostly. He does occasionally squeak or beep at me but its pretty mundane stuff from him on the whole. I don't mind, it's company.
Gerry is getting on a bit and not very reliable truth be told. He might not be much of a talker but he listens well. I tell him what the plan for the day is and he listens patiently, waggling his tiny frame in approval (with a little help from me I'll admit). When he wants some attention, he chirrups reapetedly until I pick him up and then when he does talk to me, the only real topic of conversation he seems to be interested in is PPI claims. He seems convinced that I'm in for a windfall and can be very persistent. Sometimes, I try to manoeuvre the conversation into other area like, 'would you like to go for a beer a bit later?' Or, 'shall we catch the bus to Istanbul on Friday?', then he just switches off and doesn't talk to me again for hours at a time. It can be frustrating. Still, he and I have established a bond and he keeps me sane. The pair of us will continue to send updates as we go. Won't we G?
...Sorry, he's giving me the silent treatment again. Don't worry, he always tags along even when he's in one of his moods. Don't you me little mate? Hurumph. Nothing.

Anyway, enough of that. I hope to improve my wildlife photography as my journey continues but the only thing of note so far has been half a dead snake. Still fresh though!
